Highly Trained Staff with Decades of Experience
Aguajito Veterinary Hospital's doctors are well-known for their expertise, both locally, and in some cases, internationally. The team is trained to handle all of the "expected" veterinary treatments, but is skilled in utilizing eastern veterinary medicine and less "traditional" treatments as well.
Dr. Tom Williams
Dr. Williams is a UC Davis graduate with over 30 years as a veterinary owner/practitioner in Monterey. He is noted for his excellent diagnostic and surgical skills. He has also has a career-long involvement as a Monterey Bay Aquarium research scientist, where he initiated the otter rescue program and worked in a tag/release joint project with Stanford on behalf of blue fin tuna. Dr. Williams has a menagerie consisting of a dog, Adeline; two cats, Rasputina and Nike; four cows; and a dozen chickens. He loves his profession and is very proud of his well-rounded veterinary team.
Dr. Maureen Loughlin
Dr. Maureen Loughlin graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She has been a small animal and wildlife veterinarian for 20 years. Her passion is geriatric medicine, treating our beloved older dogs and cats. She practices integrative medicine combining medicine, surgery, acupuncture, nutrition, herbals and tuina massage to provide balanced health care for our pets. Her extended family includes a boisterous, fun-loving Siberian Husky, Cally; a shy, sensitive Border Collie, Teddy Bear; and an orphaned kitten, Molly Mitten born in a tree at New Leaf Market in Santa Cruz, CA.
