Dr. Jacqueline Hofer

Jacqueline Hofer

Medical Director

Dr. Hofer grew up in Coarsegold California, near the south gate of Yosemite National Park. Growing up on a working cattle and horse ranch, she was an avid equestrian and enjoyed competing in Three-Day Eventing, the equivalent of an equine triathlon. She attended school first at the University of California Merced where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology with a minor in Public Health then on to Western University of Health Sciences to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2017. Currently, Dr. Hofer enjoys trail running with her dog Cru, backpacking, and regular trips to the racetrack where she, in a non-competitive fashion currently, rides her motorcycle.

Hospital Manager


​​​​​​​Kat grew up in the Bay Area and migrated along the California coast, making her way to Monterey Bay. Kat enjoys hiking, water sport activities, and she owns a couple older pitties and is a huge advocate for Pitbulls. Kat has a AA degree in Veterinary Medicine, completing her degree in Oakland, CA. Becoming a Hospital Manager was one of her main goals for this career field. Being creative, team encouragement, focus, client and patient safety & care are her top priorities.

Vet Assistant

Zaira is a Veterinary Assistant, graduated from Central Coast College in 2017. She joined Aguajito in October 2021. Prior to working here, she worked at a small animal practice for 4 years. She has a 7 year old lab mix named Apollo, a 4 year old goldendoodle named Benson and a 6 month old kitten named Hazel. When not working, she likes to spend time with her 2 daughters and significant other.

Desiree grew up in Salinas Valley. She has always had a passion for animals since she was young. Desiree started her career in emergency services and moved over to Aguajito Veterinary Hospital. She has three furry friends of her own. 2 Belgian Malinois, Nova and Nakita and 1 chi-weenie rescue, Lola.

Vet Assistant

​​​​​​​Danielle is a Veterinary Assistant that works for oncology, emergency and general practice. She has been in the field for approximately 3 years and has a passion for animals. Also, she’s recently adopted two puppies since being in the field.

Veterinary Assistant

Dia is another Monterey County native who has lived in Monterey most of her life. She has been in the veterinary field for over 10 years and has worked at different facilities all over monterey county. She has a passion for animals and client care. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out at her ranch with all her animals and family. Her dachshund Harriett (pictured) is her side-kick and goes everywhere with her.
